Press Release: September 8th Deadline for Grants Submission

Lincoln, NE –September 4, 2009– Applications for 2010 grants are due by Tuesday, September 8, 2009. More than $15 million was awarded by the Trust in 2009. To apply, download an application form from the Trust web site, www.environmentaltrust.org. Please ensure that:

- Hand delivered copies arrive at the Trust Office by close of business at 5:00 pm CST.
- E-mailed copies are to be sent before midnight on September 8, 2009 followed by an original hard copy received by the Trust on or before Friday, September 11, 2009.

The Nebraska Legislature created the Nebraska Environmental Trust in 1992.  Using revenue from the Nebraska Lottery, the Trust has provided grants in excess of $142 million to over 1,034 projects across the state.  Anyone – citizens, organizations, communities, farmers and businesses – can apply for projects involving habitat, surface and ground water, waste management, air quality and soil management in Nebraska.  The Nebraska Environmental Trust works to preserve, protect and restore our natural resources for future generations.
