Message from the Executive Director

The summer is over and we have already seen some overnight temperatures in the 30’s.  The Husker volleyball and football teams are off to good starts and hopefully your hometown teams are doing well.  We received 125 grant applications by the September 2nd deadline and the Public Information and Education (PIE) Mini-grant deadline is September 19.  Our fourth quarter board meeting will be held November 13th in the Riverview Lodge at Mahoney State Park.

We welcome Jim Stuart Jr. from Lincoln as our latest board member (he replaces Susan Seacrest) and congratulate Vince Kramper as he becomes the new Chairman of the Trust Board.

The Trust had a booth at the Nebraska State Fair and we enjoyed meeting and talking with a number of people.  This week we head to Husker Harvest Days outside Grand Island, then World O! Water Festival in Omaha, followed by September 20th and 21st at the Outdoor Expo at Ponca State Park.

Have a great fall and for the producers, have a safe harvest.

Mark A. Brohman
Executive Director
