Nebraska Environmental Trust
The annual grants are funded in large part through the
proceeds of the Nebraska Lottery, meaning that people who enjoy the fun
and excitement of the Lottery also know they are helping keep the state’s
land, air and water clean for future generations. The Nebraska Environmental
Trust receives 44½% of the profits of the Nebraska Lottery after
the first $500,000.
Because we manage these funds carefully, and are able to achieve cost-savings through the support of the agencies represented on our board, the annual operating expenses of the Nebraska Environmental Trust have averaged less than 3% of total income since 1994.
Proceeds from the Nebraska Lottery are provided to the Nebraska Environmental Trust, the Education Innovation Fund, and the Compulsive Gamblers Assistance Fund
