James Stuart Jr– District 1
Mr. Stuart is currently the managing director of Cardinal Management LLC. Much of his career was spent as the CEO of First Commerce Bancshares, a $3 billion multi-bank holding company headquartered in Lincoln, which was sold to Wells Fargo in 2000. He has broad experience serving on boards, including health care, natural resources, economic development, higher education and the arts. Having served on or affiliated with Nebraska Human Resources Foundation, University of Nebraska Foundation, YMCA, Nebraska Wesleyan University, Nebraska Council of Economic Education, Downtown Lincoln Association, Economic Policy Committee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, First Plymouth Congressional Church, The Nature Conservancy, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission Foundation, U.S. National Forest Foundation Board and many more organizations.
